My cycle is over/under 28 days

cycle over underThe length of your cycle is often relative to progesterone levels, a shorter cycle correlates with lower progesterone while a longer cycle correlates with increased progesterone. However, it is the balance of the hormones that is important and a low progesterone level can be perceived by your body due to a high estrogen level and vice-versa. A low progesterone level can be due to a low thyroid or hyper-adrenal function. The health of your thyroid, adrenal glands and liver play a role in your estrogen-progesterone balance and therefore the length of your cycle. Many females taking birth control pills (hormonal therapy) to achieve a “normal” cycle are not addressing the issue behind the problem. A female hormonal panel can provide very beneficial insight to the hormonal rhythms of your cycle.
